Ski Dubai Inside

Ski Dubai inside, originally uploaded by taylorcraft75.

Wow, and I thought I had seen it all. Here is a look down the snow skiing slope of Ski Dubai in the city of Dubai. Yes, a snow skiing experience in the Desert. This is the second largest mall in the world and this slope is only one half of the whole trip, we are seeing the bottom half, the rest is 90 degrees up to the right. They also have a toboggan run and an igloo. Sounds like lots of fun!

Ark of the Covenant?

We were watching the History Channel show called "Digging for the Truth" - specifically the one searching for the Ark of the Covenant. This is a fantastic show if you have never seen it before.

After traversing many countries, and following many new leads, one possible solution was that the Ark is housed within this church in Axum, Ethopia. No one (except the keeper of the church) truly knows. Nobody is allowed within the fences or inside the building except this priest.

What is shown is the original Church of St Mary of Zion - Axum, Ethiopia. Ethiopian legend says that the Ark of the Covenant is kept here. Within the Ark -the 10 Commandments given to Moses by God.
No one is allowed inside except one priest who resides in the building and keeps watch over the Ark.

Hmmmmm. HC, BO or Couch? Looks like the couch wins!

Waiting for the show to start

Check my previous post for another look at this vacant theatre. Just amazing, however sad!

I was looking through Flickr.com and found this amazing shot. I only wish we could save all of these type of theatres from demise.

Chem 6a - The Legend of Chin

Here's a little musical diversion, one of my favorite all-time tunes. This song is "Chem 6a" by Switchfoot - It gets me moving even when I'm dragging. This song is from Switchfoot's first big release called "The Legend of Chin" that has been re-released in several different variations. This video shows the guys when they were really young - I am always amazed at how crisp and clear they were even as high school students. Enjoy!

David Sings!

Tonight we went to Vanguard High School's Mr. and Miss VHS awards ceremony. It was much like a pageant with students from many of the school's clubs. David and and friend of his, Lynnea, sang the National Anthem to open the show. Part way through the show David and a few other friends from the Vanguard Players sang "Time After Time." Near the end of the show, the large group musical cast performed a song from Will Rogers' Follies. The evening was lots of fun, here are a few pictures. You can click on them to see a larger image if you like.

Good Morning - Superior Rating!

David, Becca and Tyler took their routine to "Good Morning" from Singing in the Rain to the District 12 Theatre Competition. They received an honorable mention and will be taking it to state competition in late April. We were not able to video or take pictures during the event, but here is a couple of clips during sound check / rehearsal.
