Be Kind, Rewind - The Movie!

David and I have some favorite movie directors, one of them is Michael Gondry. He is known for the creating amazing special effects through camera trickery as he did in "Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind" with Jim Carrey. Well, we just found out about an upcoming movie he made with Jack Black and have added the trailer here. If you want to visit the site, click on the title above or visit http://www.bekindmovie.com we both think this will be a great movie!

What could be more fun than a whistle? Nothing!

Jonathan and I visited a birthday party recently and the kids all were given whistles. Think back to when you were a kid, nothing was more fun than a whistle. As you can see in this video clip, things have not changed! I knew everyone could enjoy the same fun we had at the birthday party!

Tim Burton's Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street - Outstanding!

Tonight Sarah and I went to see the new movie by Tim Burton titled Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street with our friends Dani and Diego. We had a blast both seeing this fantastic movie and spending special time with our friends. This movie is not for the faint of heart as it is very bloody, but definitely honors the original Steven Sondheim musical and then some. Johnny Depp, Helena Bonham Carter, Alan Rickman, Sacha Baron Cohen and the rest of the cast are amazing and sing very well! I give it a "must see" rating for those who dare!

We also were treated by Dani and Diego to see two very special promotional items that were given to Dani a few years ago. These items were designed as promotional items for the Tim Burton movie Sleepy Hollow but never received the studio approval for actual production. The first is a Sleepy Hollow Halloween candy bucket and the second is a candle that circulates from the heat and projects images of a cat, witch and pumpkin on the surrounding walls. Here are a couple of pictures and a video of the candle in operation below. These are both one of a kind items - it was a real treat to get a peek at them. Thanks Dani and Diego for sharing these items and making the evening a lot of fun!

Happy New Year 2008!

As we bid adieu to 2007 there are lots of great memories with family and friends, too many to list in this entry. One thing that is always cherished is quality time with family and friends. One of our favorite things to do is spend time with our adopted family, the Perkins. Here are Russ and HL in their "happy places" near the grill.

Getting the chance to visit and catch up with are always a blessing. Here are Sarah, Rebekah and Laura chatting. Amy enjoys the Karaoke.

Last night we had a great time enjoying great food, karaoke, games and laughs. Here is a view around the game table and of the moms visiting.

Chief even got a new hairdo in the process.

The food was amazing as always and included shrimp in a garlic cream cheese wrapped in bacon and then cooked on the grill, chicken shishkabobs, sausage balls, little pizzas, Rotel cheese dip, and tons more - holy cow! Looking forward to the next special time together!
